Now a national platform for differently-abled to showcase talent

Differently-abled in the country will soon have a platform to showcase their talents with the Union government planning to host first National Festival of person with disabilities in New Delhi.

Speaking after presenting the 10th CavinKare Ability Awards on Saturday night, Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Mukul Wasnik said the government will finalise the dates in the next three months for the festival which will be held in New Delhi.

He said the new bill replacing the existing Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995 will be finalized after consultation with the state government and the Union government is giving high priority to it.
